Researcher I graduated with my PhD in Clothing and Textile Sciences and Anthropology at the University of Otago in 2006. For my doctorate I researched the history and practice of school uniforms in New Zealand, following up my interest in dress and identity. I have been researching and writing about dress and appearances, symbolic meanings, morality, style, and twins since completing my master's thesis in 2002. I have presented my work at national and international conferences, as invited speaker in Dunedin and been interviewed for radio, television and print media as an expert on red shoes, school uniforms, and dress as material culture. I taught social aspects of dress and social theory at University of Otago for 5 years and am currently employed in the university as a Research Advisor.
